About the Procurement Transparency Network
Our vision and approach to increasing transparency in procurement
Our Vision
The Procurement Transparency Network aims to increase transparency and accountability in public procurement processes. We're developing tools to analyze open source data that will help detect potential corruption, conflicts of interest, and inefficiencies in how public funds are spent.
Publicly Available for Everyone
This platform will be publicly available for anyone to use. We're building tools that leverage open-source data to make procurement processes more transparent and accessible.
- Based on open-source data from public procurement records
- Free access for citizens, journalists, and public officials
- Designed to be used by anyone interested in procurement transparency
- No barriers to access important information about public spending
How It Will Work
Our platform will collect data from various public sources including government procurement databases, company registries, and beneficial ownership records. We plan to implement network analysis and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, connections, and anomalies that may indicate corruption risks.
Data Collection
We'll aggregate data from public sources to create a comprehensive database of procurement activities.
Connections graph
We'll map relationships between entities to help identify potential conflicts of interest.
Risk Assessment
We'll evaluate procurement processes against known risk factors to flag potential issues.
AI Assistant
We'll provide AI tools to help procurement professionals navigate complex procedures efficiently.
Supporting Procurement Professionals
"There are many procedures to control procurement, but there's a lack of tools to help professionals do their jobs effectively." — Hackathon Feedback
During our hackathon, we received valuable feedback that while there are many procedures in place to control procurement processes, there's a lack of tools to help professionals do their jobs effectively. We recognize that transparency isn't just about monitoring—it's also about empowering.
That's why we're also developing AI assistant tools to help all employees involved in purchasing goods and services. Our goal is to support procurement professionals in making informed decisions, following best practices, and efficiently navigating complex procedures—ultimately helping good things happen in public procurement.
Iepirkumu speciālistu atbalsts
"Pastāv daudz procedūru iepirkumu kontrolei, bet trūkst rīku, kas palīdzētu speciālistiem efektīvi veikt savus darba pienākumus." — Hakatona atsauksme
Potential Impact
By making procurement processes more transparent, we hope to:
- Help reduce corruption and misuse of public funds
- Contribute to increased accountability of public officials and contractors
- Support improvements in public spending efficiency
- Assist in restoring public trust in government institutions
- Create a deterrent effect by increasing the likelihood that corruption will be detected
- Empower procurement professionals with AI tools to make their work easier and more effective
